Hospitalization

Thank you for the opportunity to care for you pet; our goal is to arrive at a diagnosis and to establish a suitable treatment plan for the problem as soon as possible.  Our facility and monitoring equipment (oxygen cage, IV pumps and syringes for fluid and medication administration, in-house blood and chemistry machines, digital radiology and mobile ultrasound capability, etc) enable us to care for the medical and surgical patient.

Please feel free to call and check on the progress of your pet during hospital hours; the best time to call is after 10:00 am which gives us time to asses the progress of your pet. Please designate one member of your family for this responsibilty and please leave with us a phone number where you may be reached during the day in addition to your home phone number.

Currently, there in no staff available for continuous overnight, weekend or holiday monitoring.  Hospitalized pets may stay and will be treated and cared for although the hospital is closed.  Alternatively, transfer to Triangle Veterinary Emergency Service for continuous monitoring is available.

For pets requiring prolonged hospital stays, visitation by appointment is encouraged.

We can provide a general estimate of charges upon request.  We will not perform any procedures such as surgery or out-of-the-ordinary lab work without discussing the situation with you.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have concerning the care of your pet and let us know of any change in your pet's condition.  Some medical conditions may require frequent follow-up exams and procedures, we will try to schedule them ar your convenience.
